Lilith felt the grip on her leg loosen. She turned her head and saw Loyal facing whatever creature had tried to drown them both.

A few good kicks and she broke the surface. Oxygen gushed into her lungs as she took in as much air as her lungs could. She began to swim away.

Wait! cried her consciousness, you can't leave him to face that thing alone!

Deciding that the little voice had a point, Lilith turned around and swam back to where she had come up from. Taking a deep breath, she dived down.

Loyal nervously watched Lilith swim up to the surface. It was after he figured out that she'd reached it, he casted his magic. A thin layer of air wrapped around him, protecting him and preventing him from drowning.

He turned back to the darkness of the ocean, his forest green eyes searching for whatever could've tried to drown Lilith. With his weapon at the ready, he ventured deeper down, trying to lure out the creature.

It worked.

A shadow, barely visible, shot out and grabbed his ankle, the grip was tight so that whatever it is that is trying to catch him won't let him run away.

The Sorceror smirked. "You can't drown me!" He brought his spear down on the thing, but this time it didn't cut so nicely. Instead of going right through it got stuck halfway.
"What the...!!!" Whatever it was gave a high-pitched squeal before trashing around...with Loyal still caught. He had no coice but to let go when the sudden twirl came. The spear slowly melted away into the sea waters until it was nothing.

It continued to thrash around, similar to a child throwing a tantrum...a big tantrum. It was only ater Loyal began to feel sick that it stopped releasing him. He acted quickly, trying to swim back up but obviously the creature didn't want him to escape.
Instead of one, three shadows shot at him. One wrapped around his neck, and the others, his arms. "S**t!! L-Let go!!" He pulled backwards, nails digging into the one around his neck but he had a huge disadvantage in water against a real creature of the sea. The monster began to drag him down, lower and lower into the darkness of the large ocean...

Lilith watched the spectacle in horror. If Loyal couldn't beat that thing, how could she? She then had an idea. The only way it was beating them was because they couldn't see what it was. So, to put it simply, take away the shadows it was hiding behind and you robbed it of its advantage.

Let's see just what you really are.

She took a hold of the darkness that surrounded the creature. And as if she was drawing back a curtain, light touched everything in front of her. The monster was then revealed to them both in all its splendour.

Ahh, so we're versing a kraken.

Loyal glanced back to see that the light had shined onto the monster. A kraken had attacked, and it seemed to be hungry with the idea that Loyal is lunch. As if. The Sorceror gritted his teeth, a light wrapped around him before a shield of magic surrounded the monster and himself.

The barrier of air dissipated and the tenteacle around his neck tightened, he couldn't breathe anymore and his eyesight began to blur. Bubbles of air floated up to the surface, precious air. He tried to struggle out of the hold but his arms were still caught, he couldn't hold it anymore.

Lilith...I hope you are somwhere safe...

He let out a strangled yell and there was a zapping sound. Electricity surrounded him and soon shot out in all directions, conducting through the water. The monster gave an ear-splitting squeal before the kraken shrank away. The electricity continued to travel through the confined space, shocking Loyal as well in the process. His consciousness soon began to leave him and the electricity stopped, the magic barrier faded away and left him floating within the watery grave.

Lilith had indeed been a safe distance away when Loyal had made the decision to go kamikaze on her and electrocute everything within reach. It worked though. The kraken had retreated. But Loyal didn't seem in good shape either.

God dammit Loyal! she screamed internally as she quickly resurfaced for air.

Lilith dived back down, kicking quickly until she reached Loyal. She wound an arm around his waist and used the other to help her swim. Lilith swam for the surface.

A few seconds later, Lilith's head broke the surface. She breathed in deeply before kicking desperately for shore. She dragged Loyal up onto the sand before kneeling down beside him.

"Dammit Loyal, wake up!" she yelled.
