Please take notice of these regulations, sanctions will be issued if you don’t.
1. Role-PlayingRole-playing in 3rd person is compulsory. If you are unsure, there is an example (HERE). Please try and make your role play posts as long as possible. A minimum of 5 lines will do, although more is recommended. If you find it hard, make sure it includes the following:
Descriptions about your whereabouts
What your character is feeling inside
What you are doing
The five senses
By doing this, people will have a purpose for replying. If you can’t write 5 lines, don’t bother at all.
2. ActivenessStaying active is a must on this forum. What is the point of registering for an account if you don’t do anything with it? We won’t mind if you post every 2 weeks as long as it’s regular. If major exams are coming up, tell me at the beginning. We have all been there and we’ll fully understand. Account deletion happens every month, unless you supply a reason for why you haven’t been on.
3. CharacterBiography: Think up an original personality, appearance ect. when posting your biography. The weirder, the better! Nobody wants to see the same description for every character.
Numbers: 3 is the maximum amount of characters you are allowed to role-play as. If you want to be a professor and a scientist, merge them together. Try and contain all characteristics of a character into one to maintain your options. If you want to take on the role of any more characters, please PM an admin.
Age: If you are a student in (NAME) College, the youngest you can be is 14, 4th Year.
5. Private Role-PlaysRole-Players sometimes want to private role-play with someone else. If they want to do this, they will put their names in the thread
Ex. First Floor (Humbug and Droxine)This means that Humbug and Droxine want to have a role play on their own. If you just suddenly interrupt them with a message they will tell you to go away. You are jumping in on them and that is rude. A sanction will be issued if anyone tries this.
6. Special PowersDon't act like you have endless amounts of special powers if you even have any at all. People don't like to role-play with someone who is virtually impossible to beat.
7. God-Moding / Power-Playing God-Moding or Power-Playing is strictly forbidden. If you’re not sure what it is, click (HERE).
8. OOC - Out Of CharacterIf there is a statement you want to make that doesn’t involve your character in any way, there are two known ways. By using either one method, other people have the knowledge that you are not role-playing, and are actually talking as your proper self. You can either put “OOC” at the beginning of what you want to write or you could use double parenthesis “(( ))”
Ex. OOC – Dinner OR ((Dinner))9. Different worldsThe tricky thing about this, is that there are two worlds, double things to deal with. So, let's do this in a logical order:
What the General World don't know... They don't know that there is a fantasy world. If they're hybrids, or related in any way to the fantasy world, they would know about it.
What the Fantasy World don't know... Nothing. The fantasy world knows all the comings and goings of the other two worlds.
Basically, in order of knowledge comes, Fantasy and then General.
10. Chat SpeakChat speaking is frowned upon at Realms of Mythiule. Follow the role-play guide so you don't violate any sanctions.
11. Style of writinga. Writing normally : When you are describing your character’s movements or actions, like writing a story, you write normally.
Ex. Humbug wandered around the 5th floor, wondering where to go on this glorious sunny day. He didn’t want to waste it, yet, he was too lazy to do anything else but waste it. He muttered to himself. But kept his eyes on the walls. b. Quotations : When your character is speaking, like the people in books do, please use “ ”(speech marks) OR ‘ ’(quotation marks).
Ex. “I hate you. You make me feel sick!” OR ‘I hate you. You make me feel sick!’c. Italics : When you character is thinking, please use italics and speak in first person.
Ex. I really did think she would accept my invitation, I was so positive that she would say yes that I got all my hopes up and now it’s like a ton of bricks and 1000 sharp, steel knives have crushed and pierced me. I feel absolutely awful. d. Stars : When you are doing an action, please use * * (stars). Take note that this is NOT the same as point 8a. It is different. Point 8a. is describing movements as well as what your character is doing, acting or thinking, BUT it is telling it like a story. This point is describing actions NOT like Point 8a. It is like the stage directions in a script. Short and not in a sentence unless it needs to be. If you do need to say a lot, and you think it is an action, like the example in Point 8a. then write normally. Or if you have other ideas, feel free to make a suggestion in the suggestion box. Here are some examples:
Ex. Humbug stood there, *waved excitingly* and after waving, quickly carried on walking.
Ex. *Shot up her hand like a rocket* “It’s the metaphysical barrier that is doing it sir.”
Ex. “How dare you!” *Slapped him across the cheek* Thanks for reading!
