Jacqueline heard the sadness that tinged Lex's voice. She was tempted to ask what was wrong, but she figured that if he wished to to her, he would.

She couldn't help but smile widely when she was lifted off the ground. The night wind played with her hair softly before she was brought back down. She closed her eyes at the feel of Lex's face resting on her neck. She re-opened them.

"Not matter how long I live, I will always love you Lex," she whispered aloud, and kissed his lips softly.

He stopped singing all together, but didn't cease to take them lightly around in circles.

'Are you sure?' he queried, 'A lot of things can change in a lifetime Jacq... a lot of things.'

He spun her out on the tip of his finger and pulled her back in, pushing her hips up against his with a sneaky look on his face.

'I'll love you till the end of eternity... no amount of obstacles could quell my love.'

He muttered a couple of words in his native elven tongue and glow flies flew out from the trees, swirling around the pair of lovers, creating a scene that you'd think could only come from a fairytale.

Jacqueline shook her head in response to Lex's question. She waited until he had brought her back in close, taking note of the look on his face, before she answered.

"I am wrong about a great deal of things, but this I am sure of," she whispered, running her hands up Lex's chest bringing them to a rest on his shoulders.

She looked up as the masses of glow-flies surrounded them. The spectacle was simply breath-taking. Jacqueline looked up at Lex.

"You know, I used to think that vampirism was a curse, but now I think I know why I became a vampire," she murmured, leaning in close, "I think it was so I would live long enough to meet you."

Lex smiled as he got a reaction from Jacquey, her touch as she ran her hands up his chest sent gossebumps crawling all over him.

'That's good.' he whispered, slyly running his fingers under her shirt and up the smooth skin of her back.

He traced the words "I love you" along the soft skin, loving the feel of it under his hands.

'What's your favourite colour?' he asked curiously.

Jacqueline bit her lip, but even doing so couldn't stop the shiver travelling up her spine. Her fingers dug into his shoulders when she felt his touch on her skin. Her breath hitched in her throat as she tried to glare at Lex, but she couldn't manage.

God, warn me before you do something like that. If my body were alive, I swear you would have given me a heart attack by now.

"Hmmm..." she thought aloud, "It used to be scarlet, but now I also like green..."

Jacqueline wondered whether Lex would know that she was referencing the colour of his eyes.

Hmph... he smiled, Why would I do that? It'd just ruin all the fun!

He nudged her head back with his nose and kissed the soft skin of her neck, running his tongue down to her collarbone and pulled back - laughing hysterically.

'Sorry, couldn't resist!' he chuckled.

He averted his eyes, smirking, he had an inkling as to why her favourite colour was green.

'Hmm...' he thought, wondering what to do next.

He wrapped his arms around her and nipped her ear playfully.

'What do you want to do know?'

Jacqueline attempted glaring at Lex again as shivers of pleasure ran across her skin.

I'm so going to get you back for that, she said, giving Lex a gentle shove in the chest.

She began thinking, her fingers entertwining through Lex's. There was a million things she could think of that they could do, none of which seemed appropriate to their current location. Unaware of it, her hand had gone to her neck and was tracing the crescent-shaped scar at the side of her neck.

Then, an idea formed in her head. It may not have been the idea of the century, but it was a start. She moved away from Lex, taking his hand in hers. She tugged on his hand.

"Come, I think there's something I want to show you."

Lex chuckled happily.

I'm sure you will...

He stroked her hand softly, smiling but stopped short when he noticed the mark on her neck. The thought that another man's lips had been on his lovers neck enraged him. A shiver of anger ran through his body, but he took a deep breath and pushed it aside - that was ages ago.

'Do you know?' he asked, surprised, 'Well - let's see what you have in store.'

He let her drift away and followed her, holding rather possessively on to her hand.

Jacqueline grinned, there was a thousand ways that she could think of to get revenge, but she decided to save that kind of fun for a rainy day. She noticed how Lex tensed after realising that she had revealed her scar to him. Internally she scolded herself as she felt the sudden rage that burned within Lex. She squeezed his hand.

"It was a long time ago. I'm just glad that this scar is the only thing left of my time spent in his company," she said reassuringly.

She took the lead, slowly making her way amongst the trees. If her memory served her correctly, what she was looking for shouldn't be too far from here. As she walked, she brought her free hand up to her mouth and let out a howl, smiling when the wolves returned her call. Then the trees parted into a clearing.

"We're here."

'I suppose...' he mumbled reluctantly, trailing behind like a dog on a lead. He briefly wondered whther that man had plucked her flower... or if that was his to take, but discarded the thought - that probably wasn't for now. He'd find out soon enough anyway. (( ))

Looking around curiously, he shivered and realised he'd forgotten to put his shirt back on. Lex smiled as Jacquey cried out into the sky.

'Forever the vampire.' he laughed.

'Yes... but what's here?' he pushed, looking bemusedly around the clearing.
