A church safe was broken into and the Sunday offering was stolen.
Four suspects were identified. Each suspect made one statement.
Three of the suspects told the truth and the guilty suspect lied.
Who stole the church's money?

Sonny: Beatrice is lying.
Andy: I was not in town at the time of the theft.
Zoli: Sonny's telling the truth.
Beatrice: Sonny is the guilty one.

Can you figure it out? It's really easy.

I would’ve thought it was Andy to start off with because he said that he went off to town. But I think my guess has to be between Beatrice and Zoli.

Because Beatrice said that Sunny was guilty and Zoli said the opposite and I figured that the one who was lying had to be the thief. It might be Beatrice because 2 people said that it was her.

I hope I’ve got the right people or if I’m on the right track…

I think that it is Beatrice because 1. Andy is irrelevant it must be one of the others, 2. the only way that only one person is lying is that both Zoli and Sonny are telling the truth, otherwise if one of them is lying the other is lying as well... lol

And here is a riddle that I knew but couldn't remember the answer... but I have it now...

You are at a fork,
one road leads to treasure,
the other to death.
Two men stand before you,
One tells the truth,

No. What if it is the person who is lying that you ask the question of? How will you know the person is telling the truth?

It is simple when you think about it.

A clue: The answer for the riddle does not just require the correct question there is an explanation you must have.

I don't know! I searched on the internet as well and it didn't come up (sheepish grin)...

I know this is probably wrong but do you go on the right side of the road as in left and right?
My friend thinks that you ask whether one road leads to the treasure or not and if they say that one road doesn't then you know that they're the liar.
