"Granted," Fwrthryn replied, nodding sagely.

He narrowed his eyes slightly, "Hmm..." he murmured thoughtfully, "Well, that's always a good thing I guess," Fwrthyrn shrugged.

He waved his hand airily, "I'm just glad it worked. But you do not need to do anything with the debt. It was... purely my pleasure," Fwrthyrn smirked.

"So what now?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Lilith raised an eyebrow but said nothing. She thought for a moment, seeking an answer to Thyrn's question.

"I don't know. I've forgotten what demons do in their spare time." she said, the ghost of a smile haunting the corners of her mouth.

Lilith began walking around, listening to the creatures of the night.

Fwrthyrn brooded for a moment, the darkness clouding his hands and obscuring everything that made him demon.

"Do you know the reason why you are here?" he phrased casually.

It was a beginning at least. Everyone had a purpose, everything happened for a reason. For Fwrthyrn, it was avenging his death against the angels, as clichéd as that sounded.

As soon as Lilith knew where to head, she could get moving, using her demon abilities and seek advantage. Of course.. Fwrthyrn would be there to help her if she needed it.

"You need a purpose in this dead of a life. Something to motivate your existence," Fwrthyrn said darkly.

Lilith thought for a while, thinking carefully about the answer to Thyrn's question.

"I guess I could pick up where I left off. But the idea of killing angels...it doesn't...doesn't excite me the way it used to." she said. She frowned. Why? Lilith looked at Thyrn.

"What did you do when your life was given back to you?" she asked.

"Yes, I know what you mean. I understand your way of thinking," Fwrthyrn said quietly, looking away at his surroundings.

His face darkened. "I lived a life of demonhood beforehand. Our purpose was to defeat the angels, annihilate them."

Fwrthyrn paused, "It was something that was never questioned," he murmured softly.

"I seek revenge for the angels terminated my life. But the first thing I did was to get this," with that, Fwrthyrn's finger tapped his mask.

"You don't want to see the underneath. I had to obscure it from everyone."

Lilith thought for a while, digging deep into memories she never knew she had. Finally something clicked.

"Before I died, I remember something. I used kill for a living, hoping everyday that I'd find an angel I could terminate."

She made a small noise before going completely quiet again.

Lilith turned when Thyrn mentioned his mask. She raised an eyebrow.

"You know that by bringing it up I'm going to be curious, but if you don't want to show me, I won't be annoying. I'll back off."

"Do you know why?" Fwrthyrn asked, "Why you were hoping to end an angel's existence, I mean."

He allowed himself a small chuckle, "No, it's fine," but as soon as he said those words, Fwrthyrn really questioned himself if it was.

"It's been a long time," the demon began. He stopped and didn't carry on. Instead, he positioned his fingers into the groove at the back of his head and lifted the mask with a clicking sound. Lowering it slowly, he moved it away from his face and tilted his hood back so Lilith could get the full view.

Lilith nodded in reply to Thyrn's question. That much she did remember.

"The reason I hoped to end an angel's existence was because it was the angels that banished me in the first place. Everyday the hatred would grow, driving me to kill. That was when the devil found me..." she trailed off, not wanting to bore Thyrn with her stories.

She, however, fell into an eerie silence when Thyrn removed his mask. It was only now that she could see the extent of thedamae inflicted upon him. For a moment, she forgot to breathe. Then she released the breath she had been holding.

"How long?"

Fwrthyrn didn't comment, indulged in his own thoughts. "It's pretty plausible," he mused, "And now... you don't feel the same, do you?" he asked, fixing Lilith with an inquisitive look.

"Well I died at the age of 19. That's what the angels did. I think I've existed on this earth for 137 years in total, so you can do the math," Fwrthyrn answered.

He sighed, "The Demons managed to heal my body before running out it seems. The only mark left..."

The white eye shone, a hideous affect added to his face.

Lilith frowned.

"Not entirely. I don't feel such a strong burning rage towards angels that I once did. Therein lies the problem. I don't know what to do with myself anymore. I mean the last time I fought an angel..." she trailed off, a look of realisation coming across her face.

"My sword. It's still in the church, well, as far as I know. That cretin better not have taken it," she hissed, her eyes narrowing at the thought of Izak with her sword. She smiled a humorless smile, "I guess I just found something to keep me busy."

Lilith flinched slightly when Thyrn's eye shone. A number of minutes ago, something such as that may have frightened her. But now it didn't. Funny how life worked.
